Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
Redmond Gems, LLC (“Redmond Gems,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates redmondgems.com and related design, account, download, order, and support services (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, how AI and other service providers may process it, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to customers and visitors in the United States. It does not replace any additional notice or consent that applicable law requires for a particular type of information.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
Account, contact, and order information
This may include your name, email address, account information, shipping and billing contact information, order history, selected ring size, purchased products, fulfillment status, and communications with us.
Prompts, uploads, and design content
If you use our design tools, we may collect prompts, instructions, reference photographs, jewelry photographs, sketches, measurements, selections, feedback, and other content you submit (“Customer Content”). We also create and store design-related outputs such as preview images, specifications, GLB/STL files, and related project or generation metadata.
Payment and checkout information
Checkout is hosted by Shopify and its payment providers. Those providers collect and process payment-card information under their own terms and privacy practices. Redmond Gems does not receive or store your full payment-card number or card security code. We may receive transaction details such as payment status, billing contact information, order value, payment method type, refunds, and fraud or risk signals.
Device, usage, and technical information
We and our service providers may automatically collect information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages or features used, timestamps, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, identifiers, logs, cookie information, error information, and performance or security events.
Support communications
If you contact us, we collect the information you provide in the message and any attachments needed to investigate or resolve your request.
How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- Provide accounts, design generation, 3D processing, downloads, checkout, order fulfillment, shipping, returns, and customer support.
- Process Customer Content and generate images, models, specifications, and manufacturing files requested by you.
- Verify orders, prevent fraud, secure the Services, diagnose failures, monitor reliability, and enforce our terms and licenses.
- Communicate about orders, downloads, support matters, service changes, and other transactional matters.
- Send marketing emails, such as our launch announcement and news about new designs, to people who sign up for them (for example, through the “Notify me” form before launch). Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time.
- Maintain business, tax, accounting, audit, and legal records.
- Comply with law, lawful requests, and intellectual-property or safety processes.
- Analyze and improve service performance, usability, quality, and manufacturing workflows.
- Create and use aggregated or deidentified operational, quality, and usage information for analytics and service improvement.
We will not use an identifiable customer-uploaded photograph to train or fine-tune a general-purpose generative AI model without additional notice and, where required, consent.
AI and automated processing
Some Redmond Gems design workflows use AI/ML models or computer-vision tools. Depending on the feature you use, Customer Content and generated content may be transmitted to or processed by service providers such as:
- Microsoft Azure / Microsoft Foundry, including Azure-hosted image-generation or other AI services;
- OpenAI, for text and image generation and chat;
- Tripo, for turning an image into a 3D model;
- Replicate, for hosted model inference;
- Modal Labs, for private compute and model hosting;
- Cohere, for ranking search results in our knowledge assistant (Learn): it receives the text of the question you ask there, together with passages from our reference library, and returns which passages best answer it; and
- other infrastructure, security, storage, email, or processing providers reasonably needed to operate the Services.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their applicable service terms. We configure and select services with the goal of limiting use of Customer Content to providing and securing the requested service. We do not authorize a provider to use identifiable Customer Content to train a public or general-purpose generative model where our contract or service configuration gives us control over that use.
When you upload a photograph, we re-encode it before it is stored or sent to any provider, which removes the location, camera, and timestamp metadata your device embedded in it. Only the picture itself is processed.
AI systems can produce unexpected or similar outputs, and automated processing may analyze images and prompts to generate or evaluate design content. We do not use customer photographs for facial recognition or biometric identification.
How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information:
To service providers
We provide information to companies that perform services for us, such as Shopify, payment providers, cloud hosting and compute providers, AI/model-processing providers, storage providers, email providers, security and logging providers, shipping carriers, and customer-support tools. They receive only the information reasonably needed for their role, subject to their contracts or applicable terms.
For legal, safety, security, and rights protection
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; respond to lawful government requests; investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or infringement claims; protect the rights, property, or safety of Redmond Gems, our customers, or others; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
In a business transaction
If Redmond Gems is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the business or assets, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
At your direction or with your consent
We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or otherwise consent.
We do not sell customer prompts or uploaded photographs for money.
International processing
Although Redmond Gems currently sells to U.S. customers, some service providers and their subprocessors operate globally. Personal information and Customer Content therefore may be processed, transferred, or stored in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.
We use established commercial service providers and rely on their contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards for cross-border processing where applicable.
Retention
We retain information for different periods depending on why we need it:
- Account, order, payment-status, tax, accounting, and support records are retained for as long as reasonably needed for the account or transaction and to satisfy legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, warranty, and dispute-resolution needs.
- Customer Content and design-generation data are retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested design workflow, maintain saved projects or downloads that we offer, troubleshoot or support the order, protect the Services, and satisfy legal obligations. When no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or deidentify the information according to our operational retention practices.
- Generated digital files may remain available in My Downloads while we provide that feature. Customers should keep their own backup; permanent file hosting is not guaranteed.
- Service providers may maintain short-term operational copies, logs, backups, or other records according to their contracts and retention practices.
We may retain information longer when reasonably necessary to comply with law, preserve evidence, resolve a dispute, prevent abuse, or enforce agreements.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies that are necessary for account, security, checkout, preferences, analytics, and site functionality. Where applicable law requires a choice for nonessential cookies or advertising technologies, we will provide the required controls.
Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, or to appeal certain privacy-request decisions.
To make a privacy request, email support@redmondgems.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line and describe the request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling it. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including when information must be retained for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, legal, or transaction-record purposes.
If applicable law permits an authorized agent to make a request for you, we may require reasonable proof of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity.
Sensitive, health, and biometric information
The Services are intended for jewelry design and commerce, not for health care, diagnosis, biometric identification, or the collection of health information.
Please do not upload medical records, health information, genetic information, or photographs for the purpose of facial, fingerprint, hand, voice, or other biometric identification. We do not intentionally use Customer Content to identify a person through biometric recognition.
If we introduce a feature that intentionally collects or processes consumer health data or biometric identifiers, we will provide any separate notice, consent, or policy required by applicable law before that processing begins.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your state to make a purchase or submit Customer Content unless a parent or legal guardian does so on your behalf.
If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to this policy, contact support@redmondgems.com.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate to the nature of the information and our business. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party sites and services
The Services may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required by law.
